Andrea sang all the time. She played flute with her grandmother in Germany, and started lessons in the Czech Republic when she was 3.5 years old, so she could read music before she could read a book (their first books were in Czech). She started Guitar lessons at 7 years old and then at 9 years old, began piano lessons. In Germany, we found music lessons equated to some sort of competition, wherein, if you had a good teacher, you had to fight for a space. Andrea laughed about this as she just wanted to learn to play, and maybe write her own music – symphony or chaos – but she was just getting started that is why we gave her the MacBook Pro for Christmas 2010.
